Meet TechWomen Algeria 2019

We finally know the 2019 cohort who will represent Algeria in Techwomen program. As a warm and early welcome to our club,  Fatima Zohra BENHAMIDA, 2017 TechWomen Fellow organized a session of predeparture orientation to Algeria TechWomen 2019 .In collaboration with Nadia Ouhenia, Cultural Affairs Assistant, the session was hosted at US Embassy Algiers on July 2nd, 2019. 
As an alumna of TechWomen and a board member of TechWomen TechGirls Club , Fatima shared her experience with  the new emerging leaders  Imene Henni mansour , Sara DIB , Imane Chekirine and Celia Ouabas .
Fatima provided different tips to the new participants in order to help them get prepared to TechWomen experience From September 28th to November 3rd, 2019.
The discussion covered the core components of the program: Professional Mentorship, Impact Project, Cultural Kick off. In addition to some tricks about packaging and living in the bay area.

Imene Henni Mansour
28 years Old, Imene Henni Mansour is the co-founder and the CEO of Innocom, a communication agency in Algeria since February 2018. She is also the manager of Khibra Academy, a professional training school in Blida.


Imene started social activities and volunteering in 2012 by creating the first computer science club in her city, and then joining Webdays, an international NGO that aims to promote technology and involve companies to digitize their systems. In 2015, she joined Arab Women in Technologies, and she started to organize NASA Space app challenges in Algeria each year.

In 2017, she has been selected by the International Leadership program powered by Prince`s Trust UK as a young leader and she represented Algeria in Windsor Castel, where she has been honored by the Prince Charle. In 2018, she has been selected as a young leader by Swedish Institute. And she represented Algeria in Young Leadership Visitor Program in Stockholm. Imene is very passionate by technology and education, and she is hardly working on promoting  IT training specially for girls.

For this reason, Imene joined Maharat Program, A World Learning program that aims to help Girls to build themselves and to create their own strong path career. Her DREAM is to create a digital ecosystem to consolidate all lover of computer science and technology.


Sara DIB
Sara DIB is a mental math trainer for children. She is responsible for teaching children SOROBAN, a Japanese method based on "natural calculating device" called Abacus, aim to develop their mental abilities and improve their arithmetic in funny way.


She played an important role in helping children developing their concentration, reflection capacities, imagination, and self-confidence. Some of them made a quality leap in their educational class.

Before being a trainer, Sara served as a purchase manager at a private company where she was in charge of raw material procurement  from different areas in the world. .

She holds a master's degree in Automation and Control Engineering from Faculty of Hydrocarbons and chemistry, University of Boumerdes.

Sara believes in learning; her goal is to empower children and youth to be effective people in the society, support them to reach their interest and guiding them to be leaders in order to participate in the change we want to see in this world through Education.

Imane Chekirine 

Imane CHEKIRINE is a Senior IT and Risk consultant with more than 10 years of experience. She has an extensive background in Telecom, System Administration, Risk and technology projects.


She is an analytical and conceptual thinker who effectively partners with managers to assess opportunities, facilitate strategic decisions and drive successful implementations.

Imane is particularly skilled at group facilitation and enjoys forging consensus among people with diverging ideas and opinions. Imane has worked on a broad array of projects in industries ranging from financial services and Telecom to education.

Imane holds an MSc in IS Management degree from the University of Roehampton, London, she worked for 8 years in Mobilis, worked as a teacher and joined EY, in 2019. At the same time, she started with a small professional team, sharing the same vision and mission establishing a nonprofit startup dedicated to improving the quality of education in Algeria.    

Celia Ouabas
Celia Ouabas , holding a Master Degree in Intelligent Computer Systems from University of Science and Technology Houari Boumedienne (USTHB) , joined BNP Paribas El Djazair as an IT Project Manager where she worked on Information system projects  of the bank .Previously ,she worked as an English Instructor at Berlitz International School  as a part time job during her master studies.


Being selected to TechWomen 2019, Celia aim to learn more about machine learning and data mining .She wants to explore project management methods in Silicon Vally companies.
Improve her soft skills and work in environment where creativity and innovation are valuable are among the top of her career priorities.

Techwomen TechGirls Algeria Club | First National Summit

On June 29th, 2019 , Algeria TechWomen &TechGirls Alumnae met in Algiers for the 1st edition of Alumnae Summit. The event was hosted by World Learning Algeria STEM Center and sponsored by Legacy International. 21 fellows (14 TechWomen and 7 TechGirls) attended the summit to launch officially Techwomen TechGirls Algeria Club. The event started with a networking session where alumnae community and guests had coffee together and introduce themselves and talk about their activities to each other. Meet Racha BIA,Technovation Regional Ambassador

My name is Racha BIA , a pharmacist and a computer science engineer. I work actually as a pharmacy manager. I have been selected for the Techwomen program in 2014 by the US embassy in Algeria. I was introduced to the Technovation challenge while I was in San Francisco in 2014. Later, I mentored a team in Tunisia for the Technovation Tunisia chapter. In 2017, I launched Technovation Thailand for the   (2017-2018) season, we were able to have more than 70 girls registered and more than 10 submissions. I was then finally able to launch Technovation Algeria in late 2018. What is Technovation ? Technovation is an international Tech competition for girls between 10 and 18 years old.It Equips young women (ages 10-18) to become tech entrepreneurs and leaders.
